Time Wasting In Style

I haven't posted for a while.  I'd like to say that this is because I've been really busy with work and night classes and frakensteining myself a new desktop PC and studying things, but that would only be half the truth.  The other half of the truth would be video games and fanfic.

What can I say?  Cave Story+ was really addictive.  I even completed the Hell Sanctuary True Ending.  I am posting a Youtube link here because this is the first time in ages where I've played a game and wanted to brag about merely finishing it.  It reminds me of the late 80s/early 90s when games were really freaking hard.

...Although if we were going to be honest, my first twenty tries went something more like this:

I temporarily pulled myself away from it to play Analogue: A Hate Story, which was a game I bought cheap on Steam based purely on the merits of its title.  It was a Korean visual novel where you have to figure out what happened on a long-lost spaceship where everybody died six hundred years ago by playing two hostile AIs off each other and reading the log entries of the ship's inhabitants.  It was interesting, although I did feel as though it was too short and didn't maximise its potential - some of the side story threads didn't seem to have much of a point, even if they were kind of interesting in their own right.

I've also been kind of drowning in Avengers fanfic.  Have discovered I have a big weakness for Tony whump/anything about Tony's robots/anything with Tony as a villain.  Also it has inexplicably spurred a bizarre desire for Spiderman crossovers (what the hell brain), which is how I discovered the fic where Edna from the Incredibles gets into designing superhero wear.  LOL fandom.

Also this cool old fic about a person on the train who saw Spiderman's face in the second movie.  I used to really hate that scene, but after reading this fic it's become much more palatable to me.

In other news, I'll probably start posting new FFVII fic sometime in the next week.  If I don't get the ball rolling I'll never finish it.

Woohoo! New FFVII fic! Yay!

--laughs-- I love that Spiderman fic. --grin-- It's one of the few fics I actually printed out and saved for later. Of course, the fact that it's short helped too.

There are a lot of fics I'd love to print out and keep as a hardcopy like The Fifth Act, but, alas, I don't have the monetary means to afford that much paper and ink.

LOL, Oh dear, your budget IS tight when paper and ink are what stop you. For me it's the space. I'm picturing a towering pile of paper constantly in threat of falling over, just from all the fics.

Do! It's a classic game and a very wide learning curve. :)

UGH
BALLOS
SO MUCH HATE
I call it Running Hell, not only for the song that plays, but also because I have made so many runs of that level, and it is TOTALLY HELL. I HATE THAT LEVEL. HATE IT SO MUCH. 'HELL' IS TOO KIND OF A NAME.
In all these months since I've gotten the game, I have not gotten the true ending. I got the bad ending, and the good ending, but Ballos? EFF HIM. EFF HIM SO HARD.

I've recently been into any Marvel fic with Loki, just because Tom Hiddleston made him so loveable. Loki as a good guy is my favorite, especially.

And yaay, new fic is always good~

LOL, I KNOW YOUR PAIN. (High-fives) It's evil right? XD I rage quit so many times. And the time I finally succeeded it was REALLY close, as in I was like 'shit I HAVE 4 HEALTH LEFT, wait I still have some missiles *FRANTICALLY UNLOADS ALL THE MISSILES, WINS ON THE LAST ONE*'

Here's a tip for Ballos - did you know you can stand on his head in the second stage without taking damage? I camped there and farmed the green bats to replenish my health and missiles. My time was atrocious but I was so relieved to finish I didn't care.

I actually watched a playthrough of that level to help me try to beat him. I did stand on his head a few times, but I'd always get pushed off by bats when he decided to jump into them ><
And then I'd either get killed by the bats, or by his final form, which I have only gotten to once. ugh. so many ragequits you don't even knooowww

Also, I'm playing the 3DS version, which I'm quite pleased with. It feels better on a handheld than on a keyboard, too, even though the jump and fire buttons are opposite what you expect.

I totally don't blame you for wasting time reading Avenger posts on Tumblr. Totally worth it. Can't wait for FFVII fic!

Oooh what classes are you taking?

Oh Avengers xD Tony would make an awesome villain I'd imagine with his smug wittiness xD.

oh god, normally I just creepily lurk around sites, but I just can't pass by a fellow avenger steve/tony fan and not rec The Act of Creation Will Be Your Salvation, otherwise known as the 1st part of the Roomba verse. I'd love to say something wonderfully clever to add to this, but really, it just plain *rocks*. Also, have you seen the one where spiderman is tony and steve's son?
