So I just got back from Cirque de Soleil, Dralion.  It was so shiny.  *___*  There was a girl who juggled umbrellas with her feet.  The costumes were terribly pretty and covered in tassels and sparkles, and the music was live, and the doube-trapeze act makes me want to key-smash so hard.  I really recommend anybody who gets the opportunity to go, crazy ticket prices be damned.  Also, I was sort of amazed at how well organised everything was?  Maybe I'm just used to going to events that resemble cattle markets, but proper signage and e-mailed directions sort of shocked me.

Yesterday was pretty good too.  Went to go see the new Disney animated movie, Bolt.  It's about a dog actor who actually believes that the TV show he stars in is real.  This should have been a terrible and lame premise and I went in expecting to see the usual Disney tripe (it was an exercise in pursuit of air conditioning), but it was actually the best movie I've seen in months.  You could tell the animators really enjoyed making it (there was no dancing, for starters, which is the first sign that your animators are bored) and who could dislike a movie that had helicopters that dispensed motorbikes that had missiles on them?  Also, it somehow managed to parody the new Wolverine movie before it came out.  And I loved Mittens.  And there was a cat that looked like Karupin!  *flails*

Okay, sort of rambling now, but this is the first time Disney has made an animated film that hasn't been a flat rehash or blatant act of plagarism since the mid-nineties.  I recommend this to everyone who can't go see Cirque de Soleil.  We should reward Disney for doing something other than making the Land Before Time XIII.

If that wasn't awesome enough, I am also in possession of tickets this Tuesday and Saturday to the Brisbane International!  And then, in two weeks, Melbourne, where kaorismash  has promised to stalk agentlerain  and I constantly.  And we get the opportunity to actually go to pot_com_au 's annual Australian Open shindig!

BEST JANUARY EVER?  So far, all signs point to yes!

Probably not quite post-worthy, but I'm pumped.  January has historically been a bad month for me.  Pretty much the worst of all my life experiences have occurred in January, aside from this one September that was also pretty bad.  After a few years, you develop some paranoia!  But this one will be Awesome.

Oh, and I'll probably be posting new TezRyo longfic pretty soon.  The first of my new year's resolutions, completed so quickly!  That's called setting yourself realistic goals.

How are everyone else's Januarys looking?

I am envious. Ciiiiiiircus. ;_; askjfkagag

Though Disney I shall put on hold for an indeterminate time. Drawing has, ironically, grabbed hold of me and will not let go. I'm shirking all kinds of obligations just to draw all day since I have discovered that my artistic abilities are not as crap as they were in yr 9 where everyone was forced to paint themselves. :| That was a nightmare I don't want to remember.D:

*____* Want to seeeeeeee.

*pokes* You should. Two hours. It's fun. And you can rest your hand muscles for more drawing after! /:)

I am having a major crush on my Kakashi. *___* That simply isn't right. :| Y'know the Tezuka that looks like Daisuke? I woke up and looked at it and it was kind of really more terrible than I remembered it being. :\ So I redrew him. I bet they'll all look terrible when I wake up tomorrow. :D;

BUT OMGKAKASHI. ;_; MUST FINISH HIM. kasjfasga I'll definitely show you them. I'm kind of proud. :D;

(askjfhakgfsskjdhfsdkjhfaksjhfauiyhfduiahsdfajdsfaujsfaajkhgakjghadkjg *__________* STOP INSPIRING ME. IT'S MAKING ME GIDDY.)

(Now the inspiration is on the other foot, mwa ha haaa! My evil plan for revenge is working.)

Maybe you're just improving that quickly that everything you drew yesterday looks worse in comparison to what you drew today! ;) But yay, I look forward to seeing them! *___*

Ah, you make me want to spend all of my money. ;___; I'll be so poor when uni starts again. Our trip, Wai-con and then me wanting tix to Dralion now. Ahhh~

I saw the trailers for Bolt. It sort of reminded me of that Jim Carey movie? The Truman Show? *___* I grew up with the Land Before Time.

Tickets? I don't know what the Brisbane International is, but it sounds *__* to me. :D :D MELBOURNE. All sorts of shiny!

Jan is looking pretty spesh to me too~ Haha, but for pretty much the same reasons. Wicked! The Aus Open! WAI-CON. *__*

FIC! :D :D Is this the robotfic you were talking about? :D?

Sadly, photography was prohibited. I bought the DVD though! :D

You should definitely go! It so sparkly, and it's not exactly something that comes around very often! But I recommend you buy your tickets soon, as Brisbane's show completely sold out. Completely. Two months of shows worth. I was damn lucky to get the seats I did.

I guess there were some Truman Show elements in it! It's hard movie to sell - sort of like how most of Pixar's movies sound like they should be terrible when you tell people about them, but somehow wind up being really good?

Brisbane International! *___* It's one of the tennis tournaments leading up to the Australian Open. The best part is it's like a five minute drive away, so it would be pretty silly of me to not go. Novak Djokovic is going to be there! *flails* ...Though you're not really a huge tennis fan, are you, so I guess there's not much point to my flailing at you about it? :P

OMG yes Wai-Con as well for you! Have you finished your cosplay outfit yet?

...MAYBE. :D (okay, yes).

THE DVD! *___*

;___; I better get on it soon then. The website is so shiny, it lures you in. Did you go in A reserve or B reserve?

I completely agree with Pixar. They've done a lot of good stuff, but sometimes it still surprises you how much. I mean, Finding Nemo? *__*

Haha, my bad. It shows how little I know. I'm not a huge tennis fan, so I might end up being a little clueless on AusOpen day. I should go and look up some terms so I don't look like a total n00b. But 5 minute drive! *__* And Novak Djokovic. *__* I'M EXCITED FOR YOU. FLAIL ALL YOU WANT. :D

It's coming together. Mum was taking my measurements yesterday. We went through a shrink check, testing to see if the cloth would shrink if we got it wet. Don't want to be uncomfortable when I start to sweat con-day. :D The only thing that's getting me is the trident. @___@ asdalaskdajsl I think I'm going to have to wrap the links around some sort of wood, because I can't make chain hold itself in mid-air!

:D :D :D Looking forward to it!

B reserve, though that was mostly because A reserve was all sold out.

Eeeeexcellent. We demand pictures when it is done!

I want to go to the ciircuuuusss. ;__;

Alas, I start school again Monday. But it is a necessary evil for my very long playdate in Japan, so I guess I'll just suck it up.

I'm glad this January is going well for you! :D Have fun trip'ing!

It's amazing what 'trips to Japan' does for your pain tolerance, isn't it? :D

As for the circus... well, I think Cirque de Soleil might have a permanent show on in Las Vegas? And likely hop around the US a lot more than Australia, so you probably have a lot more chances? You should totally capitalise on that and make the rest of us jealous. :)

It's amazing what "trips to basically anywhere" does for pain tolerance. XP

I think they do have a show in Las Vegas, and I would totally go except for I don't have any way to get around any more. :/ I'll see if I can convince my family to stop in for a show next time we're cross-state tripping though. If they can afford a day to Disneyland they can definitely afford a Cirque de Soleil show.
