dslakjfsalkfj Bokurano

Disclaimer: If you don't like tragic, stay away from Bokurano and pay no attention to my raving adoration.

Flist!  It appears that I was remiss in recommending the Bokurano anime to you.  No, I am not reneging upon my endorsement (issues with gaping plot holes towards the end aside), I am realising that what I should have really pointed you towards was the manga.  My deepest apologies.  At the time I was unaware of the much riskier and better-written manga.  The only drawback is the lack of fantastic opening sequence, rich colours, and Minagawa Junko.

And Ushiro!  I love manga Ushiro even without Minagawa Junko hypnotising me.  THESE TWO MOMENTS FOR EXAMPLE:

asldkfjasljkfdjf HE'S WEARING KANJI'S JACKET.  ;____;

Anyhow, I’m mostly just posting this because I need to keysmash over the latest scanlated chapters: ASLDFALDJFKSLADKFJSLAKFJSLKDFJ.  ANIME, WHY ARE YOU SO DIFFERENT? You might as well not even bother sharing a title!  Okay, so apparently this is why.

You know, I understand that anime adaptations will by necessity wind up a little different to the manga. Applaud it, in fact – not all manga can make a seamless transition to the animated medium without undergoing changes, and sometimes some extra character development can do wonders. But I really have to wonder why any director would approach a series with the sort of stance that they don’t want to follow the original at all, especially when every time that happens, what follows is best described as a very beautiful train wreck. Fun to watch, maybe, but you can’t help but feel that train would look so much nicer on the tracks.

Can anybody think of a case where the anime adaptation strayed from the source material but was actually better?

HEY. IT IS SCARILY ADDICTIVE.

USHIRO IS A BASTARD SO FAR. But I'm hoping he gets better? But I have to say, he does look cool and stands out quite a bit.

*___*

Uh, not really. All the ones I've seen either do it justice or rip it to pieces. [Tsubasa alsdkajlsa, ;____;]

Oh! Except Great Teacher Onizuka, but that's only because decided to highlight more about different characters (the nurse and Tomoko) so we got more back story on them. A bit more romance too, but I'm not sure that's a good thing. :S But it had to cut back on other children's pasts so it wasn't that much better.

*going off to read more Bokurano*

Tsubasa! sdalfkjsflkj I keep forgetting to catch up with that! xXxholic will surely force my hand.

USHIRO IS A BASTARD. THAT'S WHY I LOVE HIM. ♥ Consider it like the Xanxus thing.

Huh! You know, I hadn't actually seen the anime of GTO, only the live action version. Interesting!

Yes, someone else addicted to it! *fist pumps* LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU ARE CAUGHT UP SO THAT WE CAN KEYSMASH AND DDDD: TOGETHER.

Don't torture yourself watching the anime. It is a train wreck. Just catch up with the manga, it's almost finished! aldkajldka, I'm looking forward to the TRC and XXXholic OAVs though! :D :D :D They look so *____*.

OOOOH. IT'S A XANXUS LOVE EH? :3 I like his first name, it reminds me of Jin. :3

I recommend the manga over the anime. Those kids are just as screwed up as the Bokurano cast. If not more.

;____; I have to wait another 5 days to have the internet turn back around so no more manga for now. ;____; I'm at the end of Volume 4 where Zearth is trapped in that clamp monster and the heart transplant thing. D:

Ghost Hunt?

I say this mainly because I've not read the manga or read the book.

Not sure if I wanna. :S

FMAAA!!! Same reason as above. Except there's gonna be an anime adaption of the manga plotline and I am majorly excited. ROOOOOYYYY~

Oh right. Um. USHIRO. KEEP BEING A BASTARD. :Db (RE P-chan's post) ♥

I think Ghost Hunt actually followed the manga pretty closely? It just... ended prematurely. :/

Ooo, FMA! Although, if you haven't read the manga, how do you know? :-? Isn't a new movie coming out for that really soon? *is unsure whether to be excited or upset that they're continuining after what I thought was a pretty excellent ending.*

You're reading bokurano? :D

YES ITS AWESOME. The manga, that is.
I stopped watching the anime after the Kako and Chizuru episodes, when I realised the extent of the changes they'd made. It's not like they added anything to the story or even made sense -___-" uh and, since when does "I didn't like the original" qualify as an excuse to change one of the most important elements of a series anyway?

I AM. ALFKJFLSKJFSLFJK Someone else who is reading it, hooray!

BELIEVE ME, AFTER THE KAKO AND CHIZURU EPISODES, THE CHANGES JUST GOT MORE AND MORE INSANE, and really just left big giant craters in the plot that sort of bothered me, hence the discovery of the manga. Luckily I managed to watch the anime in its entirety before becoming aware of the manga, so I could at least enjoy it, and then enjoy it EVEN MORE when reading the manga.

But yeah. It was a lousy excuse for changing things - so many of the changes made no sense, too! I think once I've finished with the manga I'll wind up writing a big long comparison post expressing me general DDDD: at the director.
