In my defence

XD ...Why does nobody blame [info]ka0richan for tragic things?

Oh dear, anon wants to know why I've only been giving unhappy ending to TezRyo lately. :P
Sinnatious: Pfft, half of the credit goes to you!
Sinnatious: You are like the Queen of tragedy. /:)
Kaorichan: :))!
Kaorichan: =))
Kaorichan: oh me? but i'm innocent.
Kaorichan: ;)
Sinnatious: It's silly anyway. The only other tragic endings I've written are The World Begins With Tennis and Technoromanticism.
Sinnatious: :P
Sinnatious: ...I guess it's just that they're the most recent TezRyo longfics. :-?
Kaorichan: such great impacts they have made!
Kaorichan: :|
Sinnatious: D: But that had a happy ending!
Kaorichan: wait, when i said ryoga, i meant
Kaorichan: Nanjiroh
Kaorichan: :|
Sinnatious: And anyway, you have a point. People remember the tragic endings. ^__^
Sinnatious: Nanjiroh?
Sinnatious: Oh!
Sinnatious: The Rinko Mystery?
Kaorichan: Murdering nanjiroh.
Kaorichan: ....
Kaorichan: yes. :|
Sinnatious: ....That was kind of tiny bit happy?
Sinnatious: It was sort of middle ground.
Kaorichan: that was kind of mentally scarring.
Sinnatious: And not really TezRyo.
Kaorichan: the bit of happy was over shadowed by the mentally scarring i am sorry to say
Sinnatious: :))
Sinnatious: Oops
Kaorichan: it's tezuryo to meeeeeeee!
Kaorichan: :>
Sinnatious: :)) The TezRyo did sneak in, yes.
Sinnatious: But but but I write more happy endings than I do sad ones! ;___;
Kaorichan: *_*
Kaorichan: that is very true!
Sinnatious: I have a 60% happy ending ratio!
Kaorichan: So do I! :>
Kaorichan: .....
Kaorichan: i think my ratio's larger than yours. :>
Sinnatious: Are we counting one-shots? :-?
Kaorichan: considering that that's what i mainly wriiiite o:)
Kaorichan: OMG SUCCESS
Kaorichan: kind of
Sinnatious: Well, if we're counting one-shots, then the ratio is much higher.
Kaorichan: but, yes.
Kaorichan: almost 50 percent1
Kaorichan: :<
Kaorichan: the multichapters
Kaorichan: count for three times!
Sinnatious: :))
Kaorichan: :D :D :D
Sinnatious: I've written a lot of one-shots recently...
Sinnatious: Oh, I'm totally doing a complete tally now of the TezRyo happy/sad ending.
Sinnatious: One shots included.
Kaorichan: :))
Kaorichan: *____*!
Kaorichan: by then i'll hopefully have this damned link post done
Kaorichan: ffffff :|
Sinnatious: The Ryoga time travel fic - was that sad or happy? I thought it was a happy ending, but amidst the confusion, I don't know anymore.
Kaorichan: it was TRAGIC, but then had a happy ending
Kaorichan: well
Kaorichan: a vague happy ending
Sinnatious: I'll put it in the 'iffy' group
Kaorichan: so i guess it'd be
Kaorichan: hmm, both.
Kaorichan: :))

Sinnatious: Pfft, hardly! This is TezRyo only!
Kaorichan: to be equivalent
Kaorichan: :))
Kaorichan: ;)
Sinnatious: It's a 1:4 ratio!
Sinnatious: Way better than I expected!
Kaorichan: i bet mine's higher! :>

Sinnatious: :-<
Kaorichan: i have no title! :>
Sinnatious: Noooo
Kaorichan: why did my font size get unusually smaller? :D?
Kaorichan: D:?
Sinnatious: I suppose the solution would be to write more fluff.... nah.
Kaorichan: :))
Kaorichan: NAAAh
Kaorichan: :DDDDD
Kaorichan: :>
Sinnatious: XD
Sinnatious: ...Seems inevitable!
Sinnatious: Can I post parts of this conversation later?
Kaorichan: ahah, go right ahead. :X
sinnatious: I need to state my claim as Queen of Tragedy, apparently.

In my defence, you still have a 75% chance of a Pillar Pair happy ending!  Those are pretty decent odds.  Inui would take them!

Lol. You guys.

DOER in my mind comes across more as a tragedy, because even if Tezuka and Ryoma sort of having a romantic relationship, the mental scarring was worse. Tragedy doesn't have to be a couple not coming together. Having Ryoma come to that realisation that his tennis skills are the only reason why his father cares about him. ;_____;
Apr. 27th, 2009 11:08 am (UTC)
D: But I still wouldn't classify it as a tragedy, as it's not like the resolution was a bad one for Ryoma! He settled into a new home, had his friendship with Tezuka, and sorted out his revenge and everything! If Ryoma had given up tennis upon that realisation, then maybe we would have a tragedy.

....Hmm, perhaps it too belongs in the 'Iffy' column.

lol you guys are hilarious ♥

I am still depressed
...is this the result of something I said...?

FYI, I am still depressed. Though the conversation did cheer me up a little. A little.

I was actually still angsting over it in school. I mean, the ending is so beautiful, and yet so so sad. Tragic. T_T I'm probably gonna burst into tears any time soon.

XD Sure Inui would take those odds, but you forgot to add into account the happiness and angst magnitude scale from 1 to 10. Stalking the Angel scored an absolute 10. >.< And then you tally them up. You'll see a marked difference. XD

Cheer us TezuRyo fans up with fluff? Pretty please? *_*

Heh heh, you may have been the inspiration. ;)

I'll see what I can do about some fluff. :P

How is The Dispossession of Echizen Ryoma a happy fic? It's not happy. It's a sad fic that ends well, but it's not happy!
You can't call a fic happy just because you didn't kill anyone in it! ...except I just remembered you did kill someone. So it's definitely not a happy fic now. Even if it wasn't Tezuka.
edit: Except it was a Tezuka. Whatever. ^^"
On a sidenote, I just realized how many of your fics I haven't read yet! :D
Do you have an index post or something?

Happy endings! I was only counting endings!

I totally need an index post, but I'm pretty lazy about things like that! The closest I've got is the 'Fic Year in Review' for 2008: http://sinnatious.livejournal.com/48799.html#cutid1

Which of course precludes anything pre-2008, but in terms of Tenipuri, that's only 'Takes Two to Tango', 'The Joys Of Internet Security', 'Electricity', and 'The Power of Gossip'.
Apr. 28th, 2009 02:46 pm (UTC)
...you're just trying to get out of it now!

Thank you! I totally agree you need one, but I understand about the lazy thing :D
Apr. 27th, 2009 08:02 pm (UTC)
...Am I Anon?
Yeah, but the reallly long, GOOD ones tend to end in TRAGEDY. Or WTF-ness. Mostly tragedy. Oneshots are great, but I don't count them in this circumstance.
...Ooh, have I read that one yet?
Apr. 28th, 2009 10:16 am (UTC)
Hee, no, unless you were commenting without your user name on the sly! ;)

Even the long-shots and multi-chapters are 50% only tragedy! Delicate flowers! XD You can't sustain a longfic without some drama! Drama and tragedy are fine bedfellows.

(Your icon is simultaneously the funniest and scariest thing I've seen all week.)
Apr. 28th, 2009 08:59 pm (UTC)
You know, the easiest way to defend you honor is to start writing long intense dramas that DON'T end artistically yet ultimtely unsatisfying...ly? Ahem. All of your recent works have been, um. It IS possible to do intense drama without TRAGIC DEATH, you know? Or really, the only ACTUAL problem is that you haven't been spreding them out. It's all like, happy-happy-happy-confusing-confusing-TRAGIC-TRAGIC-TRAGIC. Maybe mix it up. For every tragedy write a comedy! Or something. It's just the recent cloud of ANGST that's a little disturbing. Throw us a friggin' bone, will ya?
Apr. 29th, 2009 10:43 am (UTC)
Clearly it's tragic fic season! >:3 Careful, I'll start writing lots of tragic simply to drive you mad. But it really does have to do with mood. If only I could switch on and off between happy and tragic like a light switch, that would be the perfect solution! Alas, easier said than done.

Your points are of course valid. The simple truth is that I tend to like those kinds of stories, so I tend to write them.

Besides, a couple of years ago, I wrote a 260,000 word comedy. I'm still making up for that. Best come back next year if you're seeking fluff, y/y? ;)
Apr. 28th, 2009 09:05 pm (UTC)
(Also the icon is what I consider a fair representation of all of my Bleach fics. Except that in my fics the mauling is less eat-ur-brains and more unwanted sexual advances. I'm rather a fan of crack, as it were....)
Apr. 27th, 2009 09:47 pm (UTC)
WHY?! I haven't read the Rinko Mystery yet! (mostly 'cause of longness). Oh well, that's more incentive to do so now XD Shouldn't Stalking the Angel be counted towards Kaorichan's tragedy count too, since it's cowritten?

AH YES. The World Begins With Tennis. That fic kept me up at night for weeks! Definitely the most tragic (strangely), even if neither of them died.

And there was no real need to make Technoromantism sad! D: Why?! It mighta been more memorable if Tezuka got over his anti-socialism.

But then again, maybe it's that possible tragedy factor in you fics that make me keep reading XD
Apr. 28th, 2009 10:21 am (UTC)
Ooops. I should have tagged the post with spoilers? Read The Rinko Mystery! It's one of the few fics I was actually kind of proud of last year.

Oh, and Kaori did count Stalking the Angel! She just listed it as 'Angel AU'.

I'm sorry to say that Technoromanticism was a planned tragedy from the very beginning. I had three potential endings written, and they were all pretty horrible.

Perhaps! It would be predictable if every story had a happy ending. And predictable if they were all sad, too. ;)

LOL you guys spew the most intense crack ever. I love it.

But I have reread Fair Game so many times now...

IT'S TRAGIC. But kind of a happy ending.
Apr. 28th, 2009 10:23 am (UTC)

(D: Fair Game? Oh god, why do you keep reading that one? For that matter, why do I keep wanting to write the Ryoma-side of it? *slaps own self on hand*)
Apr. 28th, 2009 02:35 am (UTC)
Ah. I understand you. Why does nobody ever blame aventria for anything? I mean, she's the perpetrator of all this angst! Overall, I think the only happy fics (or non-tragedy, at least) we have are One Step, Concerto, Child of the White Winter, and --- that's all?

Everything else -- Evergreen and Just for Tonight, particularly -- are like, killer angst. With people dying. (In both of them, Ryoma.)

*patpat* So I understand your plight, because Tria was the one who single-handedly plotted Just for Tonight in her twisted, twisted mind.
Apr. 28th, 2009 10:27 am (UTC)
*Gleefully hands over the 'Queen of Tragedy' crown to you*

Well, there's a market for angst! I for one, grow tired of fluff pretty quickly if that's all that's on offer. ;)

So long as the post is on your journal, you're the one who gets the credit... You could always refuse and write the happy ending at the last minute! :D I have to say, your tragic ratio is quite skewed. Not necessarily a bad thing, though!
Apr. 28th, 2009 10:36 am (UTC)
*sweatdrop + grimace*

"you're the one who gets the credit": The blame, you mean?
"You could always refuse and write the happy ending at the last minute!": Have you ever tried refusing Tria in one of her plot-moods?
"your tragic ratio is quite skewed": ROFLOMG Sinn-san, UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE CENTURY.

(If you could only see the sheer amount of pending plots we have and how much of them is angst -- almost all of them, I think...)

I suspect you love it. And hey! At least people know what to expect! They have no right to complain when you have a reputation for such things. ;)
