Life Changing Moments

My life changed the moment I noticed this on the power pole outside the front of my house.

This is just asking for trouble.  8P

*laughs* Oh if only trees could be turned on and off!

Power poles in the suburbs are all made of wood. There's a giant plantation up north that grows trees specifically for this purpose. I take it that this is not the case where you live? :P

But isn't it dangerous?
All the things they teach us about never going under trees when it rains cause they conduct electricity...

Err... ok. Nevermind.
I'll shut up XD

That's just because lightning chooses the shortest path to the ground. If the tree is taller than you the lightning will probably hit it instead, but you're more likely to be hit by falling branches or exploding bark. ;) Wood usually isn't a very good conductor of electricity - in normal voltages, it is in fact an excellent insulator against an electrical current.

All of this has not made the enormous, tantalising lever go away, though. I think it shall be visiting me in my dreams at night. @_@
