Cosplay Pics Supanova 2008

I come bearing cosplay photos from last weekend's Supanova convention in Brisbane, Australia!  It wasn't quite as good this year, and the atmosphere was a bit weird this time - there wasn't as much energy and excitement as there normally is?  It was also abysmally crowded.  I'm seriously considering skipping next year.  Or maybe going to a convention in a different city so I don't see so many people I know.  :S

Anyhow, rather than talk about the convention itself, what we really want is pictures, right?!  Although I categorically refused to photograph any shinigami, Narutos, Sasukes, or Sakuras.  There were a hundred of them.

Allen and Lavi from D.Gray Man.

Cloud!  Crossplay Cloud, but it took a moment to notice?

Devil May Cry team.  I always forget which one is Dante.

Final Fantasy VIII team.  I think the Quistis was pretty tired of photos by the time I grabbed this one.

All bow to Haruhi!  There were a couple of Haruhis, but this was the best one.  A Kyon was also spotted, presumably running as far away as possible from the prospect of multiple Haruhis.

Third Hokage from Naruto.  He had the right idea with that sort of desert-style garb in that hot sun.  It was amazing nobody fainted while standing in line.

Kingdom Hearts cosplay!  There were fewer Final Fantasy cosplayers than normal, presumably because they've all moved on to Kingdom Hearts.  That giant guitar?  Took three months to make, working out to about a solid week's worth of labour.

There were SCADS of Death Note cosplayers present (including an actual Death Note!), but this was the best one.  This guy even kept in character, aside from the small detail that L would never allow his photo to be taken with so many Kiras running around.

Link!  Everything in this costume was hand-made. O__o

A Midna to go with the Link.  End of game human version.  She maybe should have been walking around with a giant spoiler sign over her head?

I'm not sure if these people were actually cosplaying.  Maybe this was just their regular clothes?

The Fourth Hokage, Akatsuki and Jiraiya.  Does anyone else feel a 'three men walk into a bar' joke coming on?

I'm not sure where this comes from, but it's very pretty!  *__*

A trio of female lawyers from Phoenix Wright.  Both future and past Mias!

ROPPONMATSU!  Complete with emergency food-supply Menchi.  Her other half was wandering around somewhere too.

At first I thought this was one of the Arrancar in Bleach, but couldn't remember which one, so now I'm not sure?  Anyone know what this is?

The lone Prince of Tennis cosplayer.  T__T

These aren't cosplay photos, BUT ACTUAL WORKING DROIDS.  They would intermittently go driving around the convention floor.  Coolest robotics club ever.

Saikano, aka Ultimate Weapon Girlfriend.

You can't have a convention without Sailor Moon cosplayers!

Oops, almost forgot to post a Star Wars cosplay.  There was the usual army of them walking around.  Here's Boba Fett.  Japan might totally beat us in the anime cosplay department, but we still win at Star Wars cosplay!

A really amazing Temari (from Naruto) cosplay.  In true ninja fashion, nearly took out three pedestrians when opening the fan to pose.

Wolf's Rain.  Unfortunately, she did not manage to spread the sweet scent of Lunar Flowers across the hot and stinky convention floor.

Wonder Woman.  Just.... why?  T___T

I adore cosplayers.  They're so awesome.  I sort of wish people would dress like that all the time?  Life would be a lot more interesting.

I could dress like Mizuki all the time. I think we've discussed this >_< It would not be beneficial to society. XD

Perhaps not beneficial to society, but STILL INTERESTING, yes?

Wow! I want to go to a convention! T___T It looks like so much fun...

I get told every day I dress and look like Tezuka-buchou... but if it's every day, and I'm not even trying, does that even count? XP

Yes. It makes you AWESOME. But it only counts if you're wearing lavender.

I must wear more lavender, in that case. XP

Also, I've dressed as a gothic loli for yeeeears. In my daily life. And so have a couple of my friends... Oh, dear.

Of course there aren't! I was behind the camera, and wearing completely ordinary clothes. :P Perhaps you can see my reflection off someone's glasses?

Also, you totally win, running around dressed as a goth loli. Though it's a close competition between you and yusahana dressing like Tezuka. :)

DDDDD: that's not amusing at all!

Weeeeell. We've spent afternoons at the local Starbucks dressed as the Golden Trio, but I don't know whether that counts or nor...
